Episode 15: Virtual Happy Hour with Eau Claire DistilleryFor Episode 15 of Virtual Happy Hour, Spirit Hub headed up North and went international to visit with Caitlin Quinn, Master Distiller at Eau Claire Distillery in Turner Valley, Alberta, Canada.Set in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies, Eau Claire is the country’s first craft distillery, an independent business surrounded by generations-old family farms where owners produce some of the finest grains in the world. Grains that go into making exceptional craft spirits like their Parlour Gin. According to Caitlin, it’s, “The most decorated gin in Canada right now.”An award-winner that she describes as, “London dry-style, juniper heavy. It’s very botanical.”Caitlin also showed off Eau Claire’s truly unique Prickly Pear EquineOx; a craft spirit made with locally grown prickly pears. Taking a whiff of it, Caitlin smiles, “All I smell from it is Juicy Fruit gum!”“It’s really good as a replacement pretty much for vodka, rum or tequila in any cocktail,” she explains. When it comes to cocktails, Caitlin sure showed up ready to mix. She introduced us to their craft take on a classic, The Parlour Gin and Tonic - and trust us, this is a recipe you’re going to want to try for yourself. It’s an awesome chat with an incredible female Master Distiller. A fun time spent with a representative from one of our favorite independent international distillery partners. So we’re hoping you’ll check it out. But first…Shop Eau Claire distillery here and get their Parlour Gin and Prickly Pear EquineOx right now so you can taste along with Caitlin and us.
