Episode 4: Virtual Happy Hour With Catoctin Creek Distilling Co.
Episode 4 of Spirit Hub’s Virtual Happy Hour was one for the ages. If you weren’t able to be with us LIVE, don’t panic. It’s up and ready to view anytime, right now! Edward Harris, National Brand Ambassador for Catoctin Creek Distilling Company, joined us this time and he definitely brought some incredible craft spirits with him!
Catoctin Creek Distilling Co. is an independent, Purcellville, Virginia based distillery best known for their signature Roundstone Rye Whisky.
“It’s a gateway for people that may not have had rye before, but want to get into something new,” Edward explains. Catoctin Creek Distilling Co. makes a mean gin too. Their Watershed Gin is absolutely unique. Edward describes it as “botanical” but “lighter on the juniper” than your typical London Dry style.
Edward walks us through the finer points of how both of these craft spirits are made and the tasting notes that their distiller (his mom, Becky Harris!) defines when distilling the spirits.
After that, he demonstrates how to make two of his favorite cocktails, a refreshing Raspberry Rosemary Gimlet and then Catoctin Creek Distilling Co.’s very own take on the classic Man of War.
This episode featured all that, and so much more. So do yourself a favor and check it out!
