If you came to El Dorado Hills, California looking for the lost city of gold, you might have taken a wrong turn. But fret not, the trip wasn’t in vain. Founded by a couple of scientists, New Alchemy Distilling is supplying El Dorado Hills with new visions of familiar spirits.
What started as an idea between two microbiologists working in a research lab blossomed into a distillery with six distinct craft spirits. In 2013, that idea materialize when Matt Sweeney and DJ Boyle founded New Alchemy Distilling. They’ve continued to grow since, turning the distillery into a family business by enlisting the help of wives and cousins.
From their delicately aromatic Fleurette Gin to the spicy notes in White Devil Whiskey, New Alchemy Distilling was built on six uncommon craft spirits. Adding a layer of distinction to their craft vodka and gins, they use a neutral spirit made from local wines at their distillery for a bright profile not found in grain-based spirits.
