Holiday Cocktails With Spirit Hub!
Originally written by Amy Traynor of @moodymixologist.
If you’re not familiar, Spirit Hub is an online retailer specializing in delivering craft spirits and they are now shipping to my home state of New Hampshire! If you live here and frequent our state-run liquor stores, you know just how exciting this is.
As a control state, our liquor stores all carry virtually the same inventory and many bottles and brands aren’t available here. I used to rely on warehouse-style liquor shops in neighboring states to add variety to my home bar, but with travel restrictions and my own personal safety in mind, those shopping trips are out of the question for now.
I love that I can now shop for high quality bottles conveniently from home – and also discover so many brands I never would have come across before! I recently had the opportunity to get to know not one, but eight new bottles in Spirit Hub’sUltimate Home Bar Collection. And this month, Spirit Hub is hosting a giveaway where four lucky winners will get to take home this incredible collection too! Enter the giveaway here.
The Ultimate Home Bar Collection is the ideal set of liquors, syrups, bitters, tools, and glassware for anyone looking to get started with home bartending. And even if you’ve been mixing up cocktails at home for years, this set will enhance your collection with some fantastic bottles from some of the nation’s best independent distilleries.

With the holidays fast approaching, I wanted to spread the word of the giveaway (and plenty of holiday cheer!) with three festive cocktail recipes featuring spirits, syrups, bitters, and glassware from the Ultimate Home Bar Collection. First up is my:
Christmas Margarita
This bright tequila sipper is made with Corcel Tequila Reposado for toasty flavors of nuts and spice and True Grenadine Syrup from Pratt Standard Cocktail Co for a pop of pomegranate.
Quill
A Quill is a lesser-known Negroni riff that takes the classic cocktail to the next level with a rinse of absinthe. In the spirit of the season, I chose Spruce Gin, which is made with Colorado spruce tips. Its botanical lineup also includes rooibos tea, lavender, and citrus. Fellows and Foragers Absinthe adds incredible depth and complexity with its unique blend of traditional and modern botanicals including anise, wormwood, peppermint, tarragon, and ginger.
Mele Kalikimaka
This tiki-inspired spiced rum and amaro cocktail is named for the Hawaiian way to say ‘Merry Christmas.’ Merrymeeting Spiced Rum from Portland Maine’s Three of Strong Spirits fortifies with flavors of cinnamon and ginger, while Amaro Amorino brings bitter orange and baking spice to the mix. A couple of dashes of Hella Aromatic Bitters emphasize the bittersweet flavors and add a finishing touch of clove and allspice.
