About Gulch Distillers

The pioneering history of Montana was shaped by the Big Sky Country’s signature gulches. Occupying the former Montana Distillery and Bottling Warehouse on Helena’s famed Last Chance Gulch, Gulch Distillers is honoring the state’s pioneering history with their award-winning craft spirits.

From its name to its location to its founders, Gulch Distillers is full-bred Montanan. Longtime friends, and Helena natives, Tyrrell Hibbard and Steffen Rasile had long discussed owning a distillery together. So, when the opportunity presented itself, they jumped at it. Formerly known as Triple Divide Spirits, they purchased the distillery in 2015 and rebranded as Gulch Distillers in 2016.

The ingredients in Gulch Distillers’ bottles are local, and Helena’s history is on the labels. Their Guardian and Guardian Reserve Gins are named for the iconic Helena landmark, the Guardian of the Gulch. Erected in 1868 to watch for fires threatening mining camps, ironically, the tower burned down. Like the Guardian’s straightforward construction, Guardian Gin is made with only five botanicals. It’s simple. It’s uncomplicated. It’s Montana.
