About Michter's Distillery

Founded in 1753, Mitcher’s was America’s first whiskey company. But over the years, the historical brand was abandoned. Until the 1990s when Harvard Law grad Joseph J. Magliocco and his mentor Richard Newman, a Purple Heart Veteran, resurrected the brand. With their US1 whiskey expressions, they honor the legacy and heritage of America’s first whiskey company. Just like they were in the mid-1700s, Mitcher’s is making some of the finest single barrel, small batch whiskeys around.
