About Virago Spirits

Named for the Latin term that describes women of extraordinary character that display strength and courage in their pursuit of the impossible, Virago Spirits was founded in 2018. Based in a former woodworking plant, this family-run distillery is creating award-winning craft rums.

The Haneberg brothers; Barton, Barry and Brad, along with Brad’s wife Vicki, always knew they wanted to start a business together. But their respective careers in law, investment banking and sales never afforded them that opportunity. But in 2013, the brothers’ lives were converging and Virago Spirits started coming together. The distillery was born from their love of cocktails, the spirits that craft them and their Virago spirit for taking risks.

Virago Spirits’ award-winning Four-Port Rum is a blend of rums from Barbados, Jamaica, Nicaragua and Panama that’s aged for up to eight years. Its notes start as vanilla before turning to fig and creme brulee and finishing with a lingering smoke. The journey Four-Port Rum takes you on might seem impossible, but that’s the Virago spirit.
