Papilio Agave-Maple Spirit is a creation wholly from Appalachian Gap Distillery. The distillers fell in love with the smokiness of Vermont's dark maple syrup and thought it would marry well with the smokiness of tequila. So they did what any tinkerer would do. Imported organic blue agave nectar from Mexico, mixed it with dark maple syrup and fermented it. They call it their VTquila, and it's a spirit unlike any other. Sweet and smoky notes from the maple syrup play nicely with the echoes of tequila.
