Hatfield Family Moonshine's award-winning Honey Charred in a Jar began in the 1800s, before the Industrial Era made its way to West Virginia. With wooden barrels few and far between, the Hatfield men would age their moonshine by charring small strips of wood and putting them in mason jars. They found the moonshine aged faster, and continued to age the longer it sat! Distilled with a bourbon mash, real honey, and aged with charred strips of white oak, Honey Charred in a Jar comes out rich and smokey. The longer it sits, the more it develops.
