Rum has a rich tradition in Albany, dating back to the pre-revolutionary era. Albany's first distillery, the Quackenbush Stillhouse, was pumping out rum over 300 years ago. It's that history that Albany Distilling Co. is honoring with their Quackenbush Amber Rum. Fancy-grade Caribbean molasses is washed, fermented, distilled and bottled in-house. The rum rests in oak barrels once used for their Ironweed whiskies. A rich golden color, this rum picks up spice and vanilla notes from its resting period.
